Is it Pink or Blue?

When I told shopkeeper to not to show me any Toys in Pink color this is what happend...

Today, I have visited one of a famous shop 🏬 in #Pune to get toys for 1 yr old girl. 👧
As soon as I entered a shop 🏬 one of a salesman greeted me and asked  "You want toys for baby girl or baby boy?"
I replied "Baby Girl 👧" on my reply he immediately showed me a way where all girls toys are kept.

I reached there and observed that all these toys are having one thing in common and it's the #Pink #Color somewhere on the toys.
Seeing these I told him "please show me toys where there is no #Pink color"
On this special request he fumbled and asked me but sir you said you want toys for one year old girl so I took you to girls section.
I replied "Yes, I want for one year daughter but do not show anything in pink. "
Now he is left with no other option than to search toys without pink color. He found a few and I choose couple of toys among them and I left the shop.

This is a very small incident but I think this has a huge impact as far as #GenderEquality is considered. When I always choose a pink color for daughter and blue color for Boy somehow in d back of a mind even that one yr old kid learns that differentiation made by his father or by his mother based on their #Gender and try to hate or love specific color just because it is made for opposite Gender.  Somehow we ourselves those who are grown up teach them that Girls and boys are different so that even their toys also needs to be different. I feel this a Gender differentiation and act against Gender equality.

I m writing this incident here because I always remember one of a story published 2-3 years ago in Saaptahik Vivek on the occasion of #WomensDay where Indian Toys Association has decided that they will stop making these types of toys which r meant for one one gender and not other. I hope they are still standing with these words because all the toys I found there was #MadeinChina
Here comes another reason why we should go more with #Swadeshi goods as they not only enriches your own country's prosperity, #Development but also plays a vital role in d development of #Society.

I appeal every parent to always buy toys which are made for both gender and make your child  an #Embassador of #GenderEquality
